Teriyaki Sauce

makes: 1.5 cups

Suitable for pork, steak, chicken, to be grilled fried or roasted.  Makes enough for 4 chicken breasts, doubles up easy.  1.5 cups sauce for 500g meat
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 orange
1 dried chilli pepper
3 spring onions chopped
3 inch ginger, peeled and chopped
Meat

  • Blend everything but the meat in a blender/food processor until smooth
  • Marinate meat overnight in refrigerator
  • Remove the meat from the marinade and pat dry.  Cook meat.
  • Put the remaining marinade in a medium size pan and boil for 15 minutes. (If the marinade gets too thick, add 2-3 Tablespoons of water and continue boiling.)
  • Strain the marinade through a fine sieve and drizzle on top of cooked the cooked.
