Reseason Cast Iron Skillet

  1. Wear crap clothes or get top-naked
  2. Using Oven Pride cleaner, tip some into the skillet.
  3. Put the pan into the bag
  4. Using the gloves provided, or sandwich bags, cover the skillet in the cleaner.
  5. Close the bag, leave for 24h
  6. Using gloves, take the pan out, rinse it under the tap
  7. If all the black is gone, you're done, otherwise scrub the black a little, then put more cleaner on the black bits, then back in the bag, another 24h
  8. Take out and rinse the pan.
  9. If there's rust, soak it in hot vinegar water for a half hour, then scrub with steel wool
  10. Dry immediately
  11. Oven cook gas mark 1 for 15 minutes, then gas mark 9 for 45 minutes
  12. Rub olive oil into the pan all over, it should turn dark brown, and be wet but not pooling
  13. Back into the oven for 30 minutes
  14. Take it out, more oil
  15. Back into the oven for 30 minutes
  16. Leave to cool
